Two Distinct Terroirs.
One Lake County.
Our vineyards lie in two very different environments within Lake County - each shaped by its own unique geology, elevation, and climate.
Terra Bella Vineyard
Terra Bella sits in one of Lake County's highest-elevation winegrowing regions. The soils are distinctly red and rich in iron, formed from the volcanic geology surrounding Mount Konocti. These rocky, well-drained soils and the elevated setting create demanding conditions for the vines, naturally limiting vigor and encouraging concentrated fruit.
The combination of warm days, cool evenings, elevation, and low humidity provides an environment particularly well suited to Cabernet Sauvignon. The resulting grapes have the structure, concentration, and depth that form the foundation of powerful, age-worthy wines.

Soda Bay Vineyard
Our second vineyard is a very different place. Its soils are sedimentary, formed from the deposits of the ancient lake that occupied the Clear Lake basin. At approximately the elevation of the present-day lake, the vineyard experiences some of the greatest seasonal temperature contrasts in Lake County, with very warm summers and exceptionally cold winters. These conditions are particularly well suited to Sauvignon Blanc.
We take a scientific approach to vineyard management, carefully monitoring and balancing soil moisture and mineral nutrition to maintain the conditions needed for healthy vines and consistently expressive fruit. The result is Sauvignon Blanc with vibrant fruit, freshness, and balance.
